The 8th SHISSO Conference in Strasbourg: A Rich Exchange of Ideas
On September 11 and 12, 2026, the 8th SHISSO Congress brought together 60 participants in Strasbourg: doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and professionals in supportive care in oncology from France, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Brazil.
The program addressed specific situations in palliative care, including cognitive impairment, mucositis, neuropathies, and care for the elderly. As usual, the conference was marked by the quality of the interactions between the audience and the speakers, fostering a genuine exchange of best practices.
Highlights included presentations by Dr. Francesca Andreazzoli, an onco-hematologist and classical homeopath in Italy, and Dr. Fabio Bolognani, who heads the homeopathy and phytotherapy department at a public cancer institute in São Paulo. The traditional gala evening at the Maison des Tanneurs provided an opportunity to strengthen the bonds among participants in the spirit of camaraderie so dear to our scholarly society.
The conference concluded with a presentation of the results of the international HOMEoRUN Delphi study and an update on the SHISSO recommendations.
